I decided to write a blog on my self tan routine for the ones of you who have never self tanned before and would like some advice. I will link some of my favorite tanners below, along with my tips and tricks.

What You Will Need

  1. A Tanner of your choice. I’ve currently been using the Jergens Instant Tanner.

  2. A mit of choice. I prefer the St. Tropez mit.

  3. A exfoliate for in the shower before you tan.

Step 1. Have your self tanner ready. It's best if you bathe and shave before you begin. I like to exfoliate with the Tree Hut coconut lime sugar scrub before I shave. After, get your mit of choice, I use the St. Tropez mit.

Step 2. Rub the tanner all over your body. Try to rub in circles just like if you were applying lotion. Really include your knee caps, your elbows, & your neck and shoulders. I've found doing those areas extra good prevents spotting and streaks. Don't forget your fingers, wrists, and feet. From personal experience I have put this Tanner on my face and didn’t experience a breakout, however if you have sensitive skin be careful. I normally do 2 layers it’s up to you on how much you apply.

Step 3. Your results will start to show fully after 4 hours. Just like a professional tan it takes time for the tanner to sit and set in your skin. It's best to shower after the 4 hours, sometimes i'll even wait until the next day.

(If you wear makeup use a darker foundation for your face so your tan and skin are the same shade)
